Christmas at the National Civil War Naval Museum
Santa Claus is coming back to town, and he's setting up shop at the National Civil War Naval Museum! On December 7th and 8th, the museum will hold the annual holiday event, Christmas at the Museum. Families can enjoy special programming that features a host of community entertainment, craft vendors, food trucks, museum tours, shopping in the Museum store, and refreshments.
As always, Santa will be available during this event to visit with children and pose for photos. This event is free and open to the public, as a token of appreciation to our amazing local supporters. While admission to this event is free, it also coincides with the museum’s annual canned food drive. We ask visitors to please consider bringing in canned food/non-perishable food items to donate. All food donations will benefit The Valley Rescue Mission.

The National Civil War Naval Museum, located in Columbus, Georgia, overlooks the Chattahoochee River and tells the story of the Sailors, Soldiers, and Civilians, as affected by the Navies of the American Civil War. The museum houses the largest surviving Confederate warship, the CSS Jackson, as well as the largest collection of Civil War Naval-related flags on display in the country. By telling the stories of the navies of the Civil War, we connect people with the past; giving them a better sense of place and time.
